Très couture (DT Our Creative Corner)

Sew and sew
"Fabrics, wool, threads, lace - this months challenge is all about texture, layers and loveliness! What scraps have you got hidden away? Any snippets of favourite clothes you can't bare to part with?
Anything sewing related can be used in your piece. You could use stitches, sewing machine or fake stitches. Don't forget to get out your sewing themed stamps and dies.
Have fun and create something!"

I wished to make as a  gift a travel sewing box, and rather than these little plastic boxes, I prefered a vintage look.

La voici fermée:
Here it is, closed:

 Et ouverte:
And opened:
Tout y est (ou presque):
(Almost) everything is inside:

In the lid, a pocket for the needles:

And a small booklet full of tips for removing stains on clothes, with the best natural products.

There are also small labels stamped with "just for you" and "home made".
In the box: scissors...
Some thread cards, hold together with a paper strip:

Une petite boîte d'épingles de sûreté:
A small box of safety pins:

Un mètre ruban en papier plié:
A folded paper tape measure:
Un petit coussin pour les épingles:
A little cushion for pins:
Et une pochette de boutons:
And a pocket of buttons:

Et voici la décoration du couvercle extérieur:
This is the outside of the lid:
Stamps, buttons, a pin and a piece of braid.

On the flap lid, a strip of "meter" paper.

Everything began with the box. My workmates knowing I keep everything (!), Sophie gave me a nice chocolate box (empty of course, in January!) which lid has a magnetic flap.
The blue was too bright for me, so I softened it with Stazon inks.
I printed designs, vintage advertisings and the tape measure, and made holes in the background paper to pass the ribbon and paper strip through it, before gluing it on the bottom of the box..

Bises
